Through the support of IPSP stakeholders, the peace and development operations conducted in the target barangays have significantly gained good momentum. The LGUs, LGAs and the NGOs in the area have been working hand-in-hand in addressing the uncovered issues and help uplift the economic level of the barangays. They are developing new programs tailored to the needs of its recipient as per issue raised by the barangay. Further, the agencies focus not only on its implementation but also concentrate on making these programs become sustainable. The continued conduct of information drives delivered first hand by the concerned Local Government Agencies has been effective in improving the consciousness and awareness of the populace regarding the issues existing inside their barangays. In a way, a sense of responsibility was developed in the minds of barangay people by constantly reminding them how their actions would affect their entire barangay. Likewise, through constant encouragement and empowerment from Peace and Development Operators, the leadership skills of barangay officials were enhanced. As result, mobilizing the target barangays have been a lot easier due to the increase of the local’s respect to their leaders. The activities being conducted by the LGUs, LGAs, NGOs and other stakeholders have been very instrumental in gaining the trust and confidence of the populace. Through these initiatives of providing small scale livelihood enhancing activities and information awareness activities on the current thrusts and programs of the agencies/NGOs concerned, we are able to demonstrate our sincerity in helping the people improve their standard of living and has also showcased to true spirit and essence of convergence as called for.
